Open for Business: Local business impacted by coronavirus pandemic
OCEAN CITY, Md. – Local businesses like Casita Linda in Ocean City have been significantly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Mexican bakery and café Casita Linda says they’ve seen a huge loss in sales.
We’re told this family-owned business is depending on carryout as well as delivery to help stay afloat.
The team here says their built-in window has also played a critical role in helping maintain public safety while providing their services.
They say they’ve also had to cut back on hours.
“It’s definitely taken a toll on sales in general,” said Cynthia Barragan, manager at Casita Linda.
“Unfortunately, every week we’re kind of looking at each other, like okay, we’re going to make it one more week, we’re going to make it one more week, but it’s a little discouraging sometimes, but it’s just kind of keep going,” said Barragan.
Despite some challenges, Barragan says she and her family are grateful for the community. She says they’ve shown a lot of support during this difficult time.
