Harrington man arrested for strangulation following domestic incident
HARRINGTON, Del. – Harrington Police arrested a man on a strangulation charge following a domestic dispute Thursday morning.
While on patrol at around 7 a.m., officers were called to a residence on Hanley Street for a reported domestic dispute in progress. When police arrived on scene, they made contact with the adult female victim and 40-year-old George Johnson.
Throughout the investigation, police determined that Johnson and the victim were boyfriend and girlfriend who were living together. The two got into a verbal argument, during which Johnson reportedly grabbed the victim around the neck and began to choke her.
Johnson was taken into custody and charged with one count of strangulation. He was later released on unsecured bond pending a future court appearance.
