Hardwire adding 100 jobs, new Snow Hill warehouse
MARYLAND – Hardwire is hiring 100 people and expanding by 40-thousand square feet to meet the growing demand for their face shields.
The Pocomoke City company is now leasing a warehouse in Snow Hill. They say they make about half a million shields a week. This additional storage space allows them to free up space at their manufacturing facility because it can store two million to two and a half million face shields. The company’s CEO tells 47 ABC he believes the demand will continue as more places reopen and want something more durable than a cloth face mask.
“They are helping our local community in a way. It started with the hospitals, the nursing homes. Now I think you’re going to be seeing them at Seacrets, bars and restaurants around town,” says George Tunis, CEO of Hardwire LLC.
The new 100 positions are at the Pocomoke facility and Hardwire believes those will be in place until next summer or possibly longer. George Tunis says their growth has also helped local trucking companies who transport their products.
