Fugitive arrested during traffic stop in Harrington

HARRINGTON, Del. – Harrington Police arrested a wanted Frederica man during a traffic stop Monday afternoon.

Police say they stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Dorman Street. After making contact with the driver, 39-year-old Paul Lovett, it was learned through a computer check that he had an active warrant out of Caroline County, MD, for failure to appear for second degree arson.

Lovett was subsequently taken into custody, and a search of the vehicle led to the seizure of more than $2,000. Lovett was charged with being a fugitive from another state and was released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance. He was also issued a traffic summons for driving with a suspended or revoked license, failure to have identification in possession, and failure to remain in a single lane.
