UPDATE: Early morning crash kills one, injures another in Worcester Co.
5/14 UPDATE: Maryland State Police have identified the person killed in a crash in Worcester County early Tuesday morning.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 19-year-old Tyshawn Warren of Virginia Beach, VA. His body has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
WORCESTER CO., Md. – Maryland State Police are investigating a crash that killed one and injured another in Worcester County early Tuesday morning.
We’re told the incident happened at around 5 a.m. in the area of southbound Route 113 at Shad Landing. Preliminary investigation has revealed that a man driving a Hyundai Elantra drove off the roadway for unknown reasons and hit a tree.
We’re told the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. His identity has not been confirmed.
A Norfolk, VA woman who was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash was taken to PRMC by Maryland State Police helicopter for treatment of her injuries.
Police say the roadway was closed for approximately five hours. The crash remains under investigation by the Maryland State Crash Team.
