Delaware furniture stores now open by appointment only

DELMAR, Del. – – Furniture stores in Delaware will now be able to reopen by appointments only following a modification to Governor John Carney’s State of Emergency Declaration. On Friday, 47ABC checked in with FurnitureLand and Ashley Homestore in Sussex County who says they’re excited to be able to offer this service to their customers. Officials say these furniture stores have been hit hard ever since Governor Carney ordered non-essential businesses to close to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Since then, these stores have relied heavily on their online presence and have even offered services such as curbside furniture delivery to stay afloat. But they say being able to reopen to the public through appointments, will be a gamechanger for these businesses.

“I don’t necessarily see this opening strategy as a negative. I kind of love the fact that people can make appointments, and we can really fuss over them, from a safe distance, and really make sure that they are just well taken care of,” said V.P. of Operations for FurnitureLand and Ashley HomeStore, Justin Barnes.

If you’re interested in making an appointment at FurnitureLand you can give them a call at 302-846-0777 or you can call Ashley HomeStore at 302-846-9191.
