Del. presidential primary election rescheduled to July 7th
WILMINGTON, Del. – Governor John Carney signed the 15th modification to his State of Emergency declaration on Thursday, rescheduling Delaware’s presidential primary election to July 7th.
The Delaware Department of Elections will mail absentee ballot applications to all registered Democrats and Republicans in the State of Delaware, giving all eligible registered Delaware voters the chance to vote by absentee ballot in the presidential primary election.
Voters must return the application to the Delaware Department of Elections for complete the process online to receive an absentee ballot. There will be at least six polling places in each county to allow voters to vote in person, should they choose not to vote by absentee ballot.
This order also reschedules school board elections to July 21st, and places additional requirements on municipalities that are conducting elections. The order will require districts and municipalities to enforce social distancing during elections, require face coverings, and limit crowds to 10 or fewer people at polling places.
