Del. fire marshals investigating arson at Phillis Wheatley Elementary School

BRIDGEVILLE, Del. – Delaware fire officials are searching for those responsible for a building fire that happened Thursday evening on Woodbridge School District property in Bridgeville.

Officials say the fire was reported shortly after 7 p.m., at the maintenance storage building in the unit block of Church Street, on the grounds of the Phillis Wheatley Elementary School. State fire investigators were called to the scene to investigate, ultimately determining that the fire was intentionally started.

The arson investigation is active and ongoing at this time. Heavy fire damage is estimated at $80,000, and no injuries were reported.
