Congressman Andy Harris tours lower shore businesses

QUANTICO, Md. – Congressman Andy Harris visited several businesses on Saturday that are asking Governor Larry Hogan to allow them to safely reopen.

On Saturday, Congressman Harris stopped at different locations like The Red Roost in Quantico as well as The Kite Loft in Ocean City.

We’re told business owners like John Knorr at The Red Roost is capable of running his businesses with masks and social distancing.

Knorr says his businesses have been severely hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

“Our restaurants can’t survive, we can’t open just doing carry out and we lose money every day just doing carry out,” said John Knorr, co-owner of The Red Roost.

“It’s just not feasible with the restaurants that we run of our size to even cover a small portion of our overhead,” said Knorr.

Knorr says he’s had to lay off the majority of his staff, which has impacted his businesses significantly. So, he hopes Governor Hogan will consider their hopes of safely reopening as soon as possible.
