Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore grants Coastal Hospice $2,000 for PPE

SALISBURY, Md.- Coastal Hospice has been awarded a $2,ooo dollar Emergency Response Grant for Personal Protection Equipment.

The grant was provided by the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore.

Coastal Hospice said the need for PPE increased since the pandemic started.

Right now, they’re using approximately 1,500 to 2,000 PPE sets a month.

“Majority of our patients are suffering from other terminal illnesses as they were before the pandemic, so it’s very important that we have the protective equipment, in order to take care of these patients,” Tammy Patrick, Director of Advancement for Coastal Hospice, said.

The facility said they also collaborated with the Wicomico County Health Department and other local health care agencies to help serve their 230 plus patients during the pandemic.
