Bicyclist seriously injured in Selbyville crash

SELBYVILLE, Del. –  Delaware State Police are releasing more details about a crash that partially shut down Lighthouse Road on Saturday.

Police say just before 2 p.m. on Saturday, a 69-year-old woman riding a bike rode right into the path of a Nissan pick up truck driven by a 30-year-old woman.  The truck driver wasn’t able to avoid the crash and struck the bicyclist.

The 69-year-old woman was taken to Christiana Hospital with serious injuries, police say.

The truck driver stayed on the scene and was not injured.

Police say this investigation remains ongoing.
