West Salisbury Little League staying positive amid pandemic

League officials hope to return to action soon

SALISBURY, Md- On any normal weekend in April, the West Salisbury Little League would be sprawling with hundreds of players, parents, and baseball lovers. But in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic things have been much different.

“It’s rough, said League President Kristen Wheatley. “We haven’t been able to go out to the park and we’ve been encouraging the kids via Facebook to keep practicing.”

As of right now, Little League International is recommending that all organizations stay down until at least May 11th. “Whether its in the summer or the fall, we’re gonna play baseball. If they can’t have a Little League World Series, we’ll make one in Salisbury, Maryland,” Wheatley exclaimed.
