Water tower blunder in Chincoteague

CHINCOTEAGUE, Va. – The Town of Chincoteague recently had their water tower repainted, but a mistake was made in the process. Instead of writing “Chincoteague Island,” the painters left out the second “C” and just wrote “Chinoteague Island.”

Photos of the water tower are now circulating all over social media. One user made light of the misspelling and wrote, “I ‘C’ something wrong here.”

No word yet on when this mistake might be fixed or how much it will cost to fix it.
