Three Del. Correctional Officers test positive for coronavirus

DOVER, Del. – The Delaware Department of Correction announced on Thursday that three additional Correctional Officers have tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total number to nine Correctional Officers to test positive.

The first officer is assigned to the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution in New Castle. We’re told the officer was last at the facility on March 31st, and began to self-isolate at home after developing symptoms.

The other two officers are both assigned to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna. One officer was last at the facility on April 3rd, while the other was last at the facility on April 4th. One learned that an immediate family member tested positive for the virus and was tested out of precaution. Both officers began self-isolating at home.
