REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – On Monday, the City of Rehoboth Beach announced that they are temporarily removing benches city-wide.

Mayor Paul Kuhns said, “After careful consideration, this decision was made to ensure we are taking all steps possible to slow the spread of COVID-19. By removing access to benches that invite multiple touches and close personal contact, we are in a better position to combat the spread of coronavirus.”

The beach and Boardwalk in Rehoboth are set to remain closed until May 15th, or until the public health threat of COVID-19 has been eliminated, per Governor Carney’s State of Emergency order.
