Police: Man hospitalized after being robbed, assaulted while walking
SELBYVILLE, Del. – A 25-year-old man is hospitalized after police say two masked men robbed him on the street, and then struck him with a handgun.
Police say it happened on Friday night when the victim and a female friend were talking in the area of Washington Avenue and Polly Branch Road. Police say the victims were approached by two men who had their faces covered with cloth coverings. The suspects allegedly demanded money from the victims, and then struck the male victim in the head and face with a gun.
After the female victim handed over money, police say the suspects fled the scene. The female then drove the male victim to the hospital, where he was admitted with serious injuries.
