Open for business: Tastee Freez continues to serve customers
SALISBURY, Md. – In a time where there’s so much uncertainty surrounding businesses during the coronavirus pandemic, Tastee Freez Owner Nancy Driscoll says she’s doing whatever it takes to keep her place up and running
“We have deliveries to businesses; we’ll take the food out to the car. We’ll do whatever we can to appease the customer for their safety. I’m getting plexiglass put up today, and just doing what we can to be safe. That’s all we can do.”
Along with upping other sanitary precautions and cutting back her store’s hours, Driscoll says she’s also given her employees the choice to do what’s best for them during this pandemic.
“I’ve told them they have the option if they don’t want to work they don’t have to. It’s whatever they want. Their safety is number one.”
But despite these measures, Driscoll tells 47 ABC it’s still been hard to operate her family-owned fast food restaurant amidst a global crisis.
“There’s been a drop in the sales, which is expected, but you’ve just got to do what you’ve got to do. That’s the way it is.”
And while Driscoll says she doesn’t know what the future will end up looking like, she’ll do what she can to ensure everyone stays healthy.
“The safety of my employees and my customers are my number one priority.”
