PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Small businesses like Junior’s Wine in Princess Anne are struggling to stay afloat amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“Sometimes you’re scared and I’m scared by myself and sometimes you cannot even sleep at night,” said Mahesh Brahmbhatt, owner of Junior’s Wine.

“What happens tomorrow and if they shut down everything, how I’m I going to pay my bills?” said Brahmbhatt.

The owner of this wine and beer shop says more and more businesses are shutting down, which means there are fewer opportunities for customers to come in and help keep his business afloat.

“If one of the stores are closed, the whole circle or the whole link can be broken and that’s very hard for any small business right at this moment,” said Brahmbhatt.

Despite the challenges, this shop is staying open and they are taking every precaution like offering curbside pickup to keep people, safe and customers we spoke with say they are just glad they can continue to support one of their favorite local businesses during this uncertain time.

“He’s a very integral part of Princess Anne and I like supporting him and his prices are great,” said Jennifer Howell, a Princess Anne resident.

We are told Junior’s Wine is offering special discounts for first responders and healthcare workers.

They are also offering free food to those in need during these trying times.
