Ocean City Health Fair canceled due to coronavirus outbreak

OCEAN CITY, Md. – With lots of uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus and when large gatherings will be allowed again, the AARP Ocean City Chapter #1917 has canceled this year’s Health Fair.

The fair was scheduled to take place on May 5th at the Ocean City Convention Center. The fair, which has been offered annually for more than 30 years, provided attendees with a variety of free health screenings, including carotid, respiratory, bone density, hearing, blood pressure, skin cancer, a review of prescription medicines, laboratory draws for cholesterol panel and glucose, and a special appearance by Pets on Wheels of Delmarva.

In addition, the Blood Bank of Delmarva has held a blood drive at the event. A presentation of the colors by Ocean City American Legion Post #166 has kicked off the event every year.
