Maryland Food Bank supporting families during COVID-19
SALISBURY–The Maryland Food Bank in Salisbury said now more than ever they are seeing a need from their clients because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Director of Regional Programs told us that there is more of a demand for food support right now.
We’re told some of their SNAP clients who normally struggle to make resources last throughout the month are facing even tougher challenges now.
“Individuals receiving benefits are already challenged by certain barriers for them to qualify for those benefits and it’s important that they have access, and without targeting SNAP clients because all of our clients have a need,” Jennifer Small, Director of Regional Programs for Maryland Food Bank Eastern Shore, said.
The Maryland Food Bank is continuing to work with partners, like the Salvation Army, to help spread help to Worcester, Wicomico, and Somerset counties.
