Hope Writers 2020: Letters and Cards for Seniors

Over one million people in the U-S live in long-term care facilities.
Its a life that mean isolation for some even during normal times, but now its even more so.
Now a Bridgeville woman is stepping in to fill in the gap by encouraging anyone who is will to write letters or make cards and send them to nursing homes.
This campaign is aimed at letting residents know someone cares and is thinking of them.
Hope Writers 2020 is Rochelle Salmon’s brainchild.
She says the whole effort is inspired by her mother.
“I started thinking about my mom and thinking, that generation loves mail and greetings letters. Special connections were made through cards and letters. So I started thinking well why don’t I send cards to the facility where she lived?” says Salmon.
So far Rochelle’s idea has brought on people in this region and on both coasts.
