Harrington teens arrested for robbery, other related charges

HARRINGTON, Del. – Harrington Police say they arrested two teens after it was learned they robbed and assaulted a man Wednesday morning.

We’re told the incident was reported by the 19-year-old  victim at around 10:30 a.m. Through investigation, police learned that victim was walking on Ward Street in the area of Mill street when he was approached by two suspects who assaulted him and stole an unknown amount of money from him before fleeing the scene.

The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

Police were able to identify the suspects as a 16-year-old male and 17-year-old male, both of Harrington. Both suspects were charged with second degree robbery, second degree conspiracy, and third degree assault. It was also learned through a computer check that the 16-year-old had an active capias out of New Castle County for failing to appear for a hearing on a third degree unlawful sexual contact charge.

We’re told the 17-year-old was released to the custody of his parents, while the 16-year-old was held at the Stevenson Juvenile Detention Center on a $3,000 secured bond.
