Gov. Carney issues community call-to-action, asking for donations of supplies and materials

WILMINGTON, Del. – On Thursday, Governor John Carney issued a community call-to-action, urging all Delaware citizens, businesses, and nonprofits to offer their assistance in the state’s fight against the coronavirus.

Carney says that critical needs at this time include hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, nitrile gloves, Tyvek suits, N95 masks, face shields and/or eye protection, and impermeable gowns.

“We hope this new effort will encourage more Delaware citizens, businesses and nonprofit organizations to get involved. Our goal is to get emergency supplies and materials where they are most needed – on the front lines supporting our health care workers, our long-term care facilities, and other first responders. We’ll get through this – but it takes all of us,” said Governor Carney.

The state has issued an online tool to connect Delawareans offering materials and supplies with organizations, medical providers, and others in need of assistance.

Those in need of supplies (nursing homes, emergency child care sites, grocery stores, pharmacies, or other designated emergency retailers) can submit their request here.

Citizens, businesses, or nonprofits with materials and supplies to support Delaware’s response should click here.
