Former Delmar football standout Shane Leatherbury lands contract with Arizona Cardinals

BALTIMORE, Md.- Former Delmar and Towson football standout Shane Leatherbury is headed to the NFL after signing a rookie undrafted free agent contract with the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday.

Leatherbury played his final season for Delmar in 2014, earning second-team All-Henlopen honors and playing in the DFRC Blue-Gold All-Star Football Game as a senior. He continued his football career at Seton Hill as a freshman before transferring to Towson University as a redshirt sophomore in 2017. In 2018 he hauled in 67 receptions for 885 yards and 7 receptions as a Junior to earn 1st team All-CAA honors. As a Senior, Shane recorded one of the top receiving seasons in school history with 52 catches, 667 yards at 12 touchdowns and 2nd team All-CAA.

Leatherbury tied the school single season record with 12 receiving touchdowns in 2019. He sits at third in school history with 21 career receiving touchdowns, eighth all-time in receptions with 149, and tenth all-time with 1,848 receiving yards.
