Eight new COVID-19 related deaths reported in Del.
SMYRNA, Del. – Delaware officials have announced an additional eight deaths and 134 positive COVID-19 cases in the state.
Officials say the eight new deaths involve individuals with underlying health conditions who were either hospitalized or living in a long-term care facility. Five of these individuals were from New Castle County, and three were from Sussex, all ranging in age from 54 to 102 years old.
134 new positive cases have been confirmed, bringing the state’s total to 3,442. New Castle County holds the lead with 1,486 cases, while Sussex has 1,394, and Kent has 558.
At this time, 277 individuals are hospitalized, 63 of whom are critically ill. 703 Delawareans have made a full recovery from the virus.
