Delay of Game: Jorden Duffy

The first year pro shares his story of leaving Slovakia amid pandemic

SALISBURY, Md- Former Bennett boys basketball superstar Jorden Duffy joins 47abc’s newest segment Delay of Game to tell his story.

Duffy (Slovak Basketball League) was among thousands of Americans who saw their professional overseas basketball seasons cancelled because of the Coronavirus. “Our team was doing well, we started gelling really good,” said Duffy. “I was second leading scorer in the league, I was just getting comfortable. We had two more games before the playoffs and that’s when they told us the league was being suspended.”

The North Texas alum vouches that he had to travel to three European countries and Canada before he was able to get back into the US, which prompted him to be screened at the Canadian border.
