Del. Division of Public Health provides update on COVID-19 cases in the state
SMYRNA, Del. – The Delaware Division of Public Health says an additional six people have died as a result of the coronavirus in the state.
The most recent deaths include three Sussex County women, aged 81, 71, and 87, as well as an 80-year-old New Castle County man, and two Kent County women, aged 72 and 54. We’re told that all were either hospitalized or living in a long-term care facility. To date, 41 Delawareans have died from complications of the coronavirus, ranging in age from 33 to 96 years old.
An additional 136 positive cases have been announced in the state, bringing the total to 1,761. 919 cases are in New Castle County, 288 in Kent, and 551 in Sussex.
204 are hospitalized at this time, 51 of whom are critically ill. 277 individuals have made a full recovery from the virus.
