Dagsboro Vol. Fire Dept. offers ride-by’s for birthday celebrations

DAGSBORO, Del. – In Sussex County, the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department is pushing to help bring a little more joy on children’s birthdays during the stay at home order.

The Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department recently announced that they will be offering a ride-by of their fire trucks to help bring a smile to the special birthday boy or girl.

We are told families can by reach out to the department via Facebook to set up these ride by’s.

Volunteer firefighters we spoke to say they simply want to help make birthdays a little extra special during these difficult times.

“So the idea to go out and do something to celebrate their day, that’s something that all the members of the Dagsboro Fire Department jumped on and we’re sure glad to take care of,” said Jason McCabe, vice president at the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department.

The Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department says the scheduled ride-byes will depend on staff availability. For more information, click here.
