COVID-19: City of Salisbury employee tests positive
SALISBURY, Md. – On Monday, Salisbury Mayor Jake Day announced that a city employee, who is a member of the Salisbury Fire Department, has tested positive for coronavirus.
According to city officials, the employee only has a cough, but no other symptoms at this time.
The employee will remain isolated as mandated by the Wicomico County Health Department.
We’re told the last day the employee was at work was Wednesday, April 15th. At this time, city officials are not worried about transmission.
So far, there have been no other confirmed cases of COVID-19 among City of Salisbury employees.
Officials say essential workers have their temperature taken at the beginning of each shift and are required to wear N95 masks at all times when on duty.
In honor of those who’ve lost their battle with COVID-19, Mayor Jake Day has ordered all City of Salisbury flags to be flown at half-mast until further notice.
