City of Salisbury launches ‘takeout bingo,’ encourages eating local

SALISBURY, Md. – As businesses across Delmarva struggle to stay afloat amid the coronavirus pandemic, the city of Salisbury is offering a fun new incentive to residents. Recently, city officials announced that people will have a chance to play bingo. But not just any kind of bingo, takeout bingo. Here’s how it works:
There are bingo cards that you can print out with 24 local restaurants on them. If you visit any of the establishments on the board, save your receipts and when you hit bingo you submit them to the city of Salisbury. There, you’ll get a chance to win a $50 gift card to a restaurant in Salisbury of your choosing. And city officials say this is just another fun way to encourage people to support local businesses during these trying times.

“If we can unite as residents of our community and put our economic power to work, even when our power is limited and reduced to what it normally is, we can have an influence as well in helping to keep the lights on,” said Mayor Jake Day.

Takeout bingo will take place from now until May 15th. To print out your own bingo card or read the takeout bingo rules click here.
