Carney extends application for Delaware Senior School Property Tax Credit Program, announces additional protections for renters

WILMINGTON, Del. – Governor John Carney issued the fourteenth modification to his State of Emergency on Thursday.

In this modification, Carney ordered that renters not be required to be subjected to prorated fees for not paying their monthly rent on time. In addition, Carney ordered that landlords cannot hold tenants responsible for their losses, unless the tenant would have already been held responsible under the previous rental agreement.

Carney also extended the deadline for the Senior School Property Tax Credit Program from April 30th to June 1st.

Finally, Carney ordered all death certificates to be completed, signed, certified, and filed electronically through the Delaware Vital Events Registration System.
