BREAKING: Delaware schools to remain closed for the rest of school year
DOVER, Del. – Governor John Carney announced on Friday that schools in the First State will remain closed for the rest of the school year.
Classes will continue virtually over the course of the next two months. Carney also says that because of this, high school seniors won’t have a graduation ceremony like usual, but officials are working on ways to recognize their achievements.
In addition to the school update, officials provided updates on coronavirus in the state. They say that Delaware isn’t seeing a consistent drop in overall case increases each day, which is a guideline for reopening the state.
The Delaware Division of Public Health has launched My Health Community data portal, which will include COVID-19 data about race/ethnicity, zip codes, and more. That portal can be found here.
