Brandywine Valley SPCA teams up with Meals on Wheels to deliver pet food
GEORGETOWN, Del. – The Brandywine Valley SPCA in Georgetown is doing everything they can to make sure all four legged friends across Delaware are fed during this uncertain time.
The shelter recently announced a partnership with Meals on Wheels to bring pet food to families in need throughout the Coronavirus pandemic.
Linda Torreli, Marketing Director with the shelter, tells 47 ABC the partnership will allow the shelter to bring dog and cat food to families who are already enrolled in the meals on wheels program.
Torreli says in the midst of a global pandemic, keeping pets healthy and together with their families is more important than ever.
“They need their pets in their family, those of us who have pets know how soothing they are, how much they bring down our stress, how much they make us laugh,” Torreli said. “We would never want to see a pet have to go into a shelter just because someone can’t afford pet food.”
Anyone interested in donating money or supplies to the shelter can find a link to do so on their website.
