Bayhealth introduces new communication tool for emergency care
MILFORD, Del. – Bayhealth’s Emergency and Trauma Services, in partnership with local Emergency Medical Services teams, recently started using a secure, HIPPA-compliant communication technology called Twiage.
We’re told this app can be used on smartphones, tablets, and computers, and replaces the phone and radio calls the teams have historically used for communication patients’ medical information prior to arrival at the hospital.
With the app, all Emergency Department staff members simultaneously receive the patient’s information, such as their name, symptoms, vitals, and condition. We’re also told that the app has built-in GPS, meaning staff can track EMS so they have a better idea of when they’ll arrive, instead of only relying on EMS’s traditional calls alerting them when they’re five minutes out.
