‘A unique opportunity to promote lung health’: Local senior focusing on awareness amid Coronavirus pandemic
SALISBURY, Md. – At a time when it’s more important than ever to take care of your health, one local high school student is reminding everyone to focus on your lungs.
The lungs are heavily impacted by Coronavirus, but Worcester Prep Senior Abigail Plylar has been raising awareness for lung health for years.
Almost four years ago, Plylar started an annual tennis tournament that raises awareness for lung health after she says her grandfather passed away from pulmonary fibrosis.
This year, because of the Coronavirus pandemic, Plylar had to cancel the tournament. But that’s not stopping her from encouraging people to keep their lungs healthy.
“Although it’s really devastating that we had to cancel the tournament it’s still a unique opportunity to promote lung health and try to keep lungs as healthy as possible by staying at home and not attending the tournament,” Plylar said.
For more information on how you can get involved, Plylar says you can always visit their website.
