SMYRNA, Del. – The Delaware Division of Public Health says that five more individuals have died in Delaware as a result of the coronavirus.

Officials say two were New Castle County residents, one was a Kent County resident, and two were Sussex County residents. All five had underlying health conditions and ranged in age from 71 to 92. To date, 125 Delawareans have died as a result of the virus.

An additional 128 cases have been confirmed, bringing the state’s total to 4,162. Sussex County currently has the most cases with 1,870, while New Castle has 1,629, and Kent has 652.

As a reminder, Governor Carney announced on Saturday that Delawareans must wear face coverings in public, including grocery stores, convenience stores, pharmacies, doctor’s offices, and on public transportation. Children 12 and under are not required to wear masks, and children under two must not wear one due to the risk of suffocation. This order goes into effect at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
