Telamon Head Start announces closure of childcare centers across Delaware

DELAWARE – Due to the closure of Delaware public schools, all Telemon Head Start centers are closed through March 27th.

In addition, Telemon has announced the closure of six childcare centers across Delaware. The following locations will not reopen when the coronavirus closures are lifted:

• Telemon Colonial Gardens Head Start (Dover)
• Telemon Cool Springs Head Start (Milton)
• Telemon Harrington Head Start
• Telemon Laurel Head Start
• Telemon Seaford Head Start
• Telemon Southern Delaware Head Start (Selbyville)

We’re told this decision has not easy, but officials must ensure all classrooms are adequately staffed for the safety and wellbeing of the children they serve. They plan to maintain eight Head Start childcare locations across Delaware, and staff members impacted by the closures will be reassigned to one of the remaining eight locations.
