SU remains online, cancels spring commencement ceremony

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury University announced students will not be returning to campus for the remainder of the 2020 spring semester.  This decision was made in accordance with actions taken by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and the University System of Maryland.

Right now classes will continue online for the remainder of the spring semester.  School officials also say in-person spring commencement exercises are canceled.  Officials say they’re looking at alternative ways to celebrate the hard work of graduating students and their academic scholarship.

A plan is currently in the works for students to get their belongings from the residence halls.  The school also says housing and dining refunds are in progress and will be credited to students’ accounts.  All events, including athletics, remain canceled, and campus buildings are not open to the public.
