Strong second half propels Lady Hawks over Coppin State
NORFOLK, Va- The 8th seeded Maryland Eastern Shore women’s basketball team outscored 9-seed Coppin State 36-18 in the second half to earn a 62-50 victory in the opening game of the 2020 MEAC tournament.
Freshman Mya Thomas finished with a career-high 21 points to lead the Hawks, going 9-16 from the field. Backcourt-mate Brooklyn Bailey finished with 11 points in the win.
The Lady Hawks move to take on top-seeded Bethune Cookman on Wednesday at noon.
