Somerset Co. announcing additional precautionary actions to prevent spread of COVID-19

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Somerset County officials say they are taking additional actions to protect public health and limit the spread of the coronavirus in Maryland.

County offices will remain staffed during normal business hours, however access to all county buildings for the general public is restricted.

All Recreation and Parks programming has been cancelled until further notice. County outdoor recreation areas are available for passive recreation. Great Hope Golf Course is open for business, however the outdoor pavilion as well as pavilions at all county recreation areas are closed.

In addition:

  • The Caddy Shack Restaurant offers carry-out options
  • Inmate visitation has been cancelled at the Somerset County Detention Center
  • All Somerset County Senior Centers/MAC are closed, however Meals on Wheels will continue on normal schedule
  • Somerset County Visitor Center is closed. The rest area, bathrooms, and public grounds will remain open
  • Gatherings exceeding 10 people are prohibited
  • Liberal leave policy is in effect for non-essential county personnel
