Update: Police arrest man in Seaford shooting

 

SEAFORD, Del.-Delaware State Police arrested a man in connection with the shooting that happened Friday night at a local area bar and package store in Seaford.

Police said 64- year-old, Rafael A. Pena-Suarez, of Bridgeville, allegedly shot a 41-year-old man around 10:30 p.m. after an altercation at “The Woodshed” located at 22588 Bridgeville Highway.

Officials said the victim was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to a local area hospital where he is said to be in stable condition.

47ABC was told there were no other reported injuries from the incident.

Police said a search warrant happened on Rifle Range Rd. in Bridgeville on Sunday and Pena-Suarez was taken into custody.

Pena-Suarez is being charged with attempted murder in the first degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited.

Rafael A. Pena-Suarez was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $280,000.00 cash bond.
