Salvation Army helps people get food during coronavirus outbreak

LAUREL, Del. – In Sussex County, volunteers at the Salvation Army are heading into different communities to help families in need of a warm meal during these uncertain times.

The Salvation Army in Seaford says they will have several food distribution sites across the region in the next couple of days.

On Monday, the Salvation Army stopped in places like Laurel Village, Blades Park and Laverty Lane to provide both lunch and dinner to families in need.

“We’re not allowing times to determine our servanthood,” said Lt. Miguel Alban Guerrero at the Sussex County Salvation Army.

“We have to continue to provide for those who can’t help themselves,” said Guerrero.

According to Guerrero, the Salvation Army in Seaford will also continue to run their Soup Kitchen Monday through Thursday from 11:30 AM to 1 PM for anyone looking for help.
