Playgrounds, basketball courts to close in Wicomico County amid Coronavirus outbreak

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Playgrounds, pavilions, tennis courts, basketball courts, and pickle ball courts will be officially off limits starting on Monday, as Wicomico County officials try to slow the spread of the Coronavirus.

Officials announced the closures on Saturday just hours after hospital officials at Peninsula Regional Medical Center announced their first patient with COVID-19, also known as the Coronavirus.

County officials say day use areas and trails will remain open during posted hours, as well marinas and boat ramps.

The playgrounds and other listed areas will remain closed until further notice.
