Md. General Assemly closing hearings to non-legislators amid coronavirus concerns

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Maryland General Assembly is taking precautions this legislative session, amid the coronavirus outbreak.

We’re told that starting next week, all bill hearings will be closed to anyone who is not a legislator. Lawmakers tell 47 ABC that the public can submit written testimonies so that their voices can still be heard throughout the process.

Local legislators also say they’re been asked to limit their interaction and attendance at events while they’re still in session.
