Maryland businesses celebrate Pi Day
SALISBURY, Md. – Well, you do not have to be a math fan to celebrate Pi Day.
On Saturday, people all across Delmarva came out to support local businesses offering special deals on the holiday.
People all around the world are celebrating the math sign and in Salisbury places like The Ugly Pie got into the holiday spirit by providing discounted pies.
Many people joined in on the celebration on Saturday, which included delicious Lemon Hand and Apple Hand Pies.
Owner of The Ugly Pie, Shaina Bounds, says Pi Day is both a great way to boost sales and to bring people in the community together.
“It’s a good reason to celebrate and it’s a good reason to have deals,” said Bounds.
“Some people are afraid to come out, especially now, this particular week, but it’s a good way to kind of get people interested if they never had your stuff before and it’s also just kind of fun and brightens up our day,” said Bounds.
We are also told that events like this one are just another great way to support small businesses.
