Man arrested for stabbing ex-girlfriend
BRIDGEVILLE, Del.- Delaware State Police arrested a Delmar man on multiple felony charges from a domestic-related stabbing Saturday morning.
Police said Daniel W. King, 56-years-old, allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home, on Wilson Farm Rd., around 1:00 a.m., and began assaulting her with a metal pipe.
Officials said King then grabbed a knife from the kitchen and began stabbing her, while she attempted to call 9-1-1.
When troopers arrived on scene, they took King into custody without incident.
Police said the victim was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to a local area hospital for serious injuries and is in stable condition.
King is charged with a slew of charges including attempt to commit murder on the first degree, two counts of possession of a deadly weapon, weapon in the first degree, aggravated menacing, criminal mischief, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said King was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and then committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $215,000.00 cash bond.
