Local organization provides food for students, families in need in Dorchester County
HURLOCK, Md. – A local organization in Maryland is continuing to work around the clock to make sure kids who are in need of food don’t go hungry. On Friday, Mid Shore Meals til Monday continued their week-long effort to provide meals to students and families throughout Dorchester County. Friday morning, they stopped at a number of different schools throughout the area including Hurlock Elementary, North Dorchester High School and more to hand out breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Organizers say this week alone, they’ve handed out more than 1,000 bags of food to those in need. And they tell 47 ABC they don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
“We will be providing over 1,000 Bags of food for Dorchester County family starting next week and we will be continuing until they need is done or the kids go back to school whatever that looks like we’re going to be here doing what we need to do,” said Mid Shore Meals til Monday Director, Leslie Bishop.
