Local distillery creating hand sanitizers amid shortage
MILFORD, Del. – As more and more hand sanitizers fly off the shelves at supermarkets people in the community are looking for ways to stop the spread of COVID-19.
“It is something that’s at the forefront of everybody’s mind and it’s worrisome to a lot,” said John Adams, a Milton resident.
In order to help keep each and every person safe a restaurant and distillery in Milford is creating thousands of these hand sanitizer spray bottles to sell or donate to anyone who needs it.
“So, we’ve been repurposing some products in the time of need,” said Zack King, manager at EasySpeak Spirits.
“People don’t need vodka and gin as much right now as they need this product and so stuff that we had here marked to go into vodka bottles might be in these hand sanitizers now,” said King.
Zack King says many of these hand sanitizers will go to hospitals, nursing homes and even police stations and they are hoping that this idea will help keep their business alive while supporting their community.
“We didn’t realize there was this much of a need, but we’re definitely grateful to be able to help and supplement our income right now at a slow time,” said King.
The EasySpeak Spirits hand sanitizer is available in three different sizes and next week they will also be selling by the gallon.
