Humane Society of Wicomico County asking for donations amid Coronavirus pandemic
SALISBURY, Md. – As stores, businesses, and organizations close their doors amid the Coronavirus outbreak, some places are relying on community support more than ever. One place counting on your support is the Humane Society of Wicomico County.
Kim Nock, the Director of the humane society, tells 47 ABC that the shelter is still accepting physical donations like food or toys for the animals.
If anyone is interested in donating, Nock says they can leave the items outside of the shelter’s door and a staff member will bring it inside.
Nock adds that while the shelter is always in need of financial donations, as well, the outbreak has made that need even greater.
“The most important donations would be toys for the dogs and financial donations, we’ve had one fundraiser cancelled and we have another scheduled for June that we’re still uncertain about,” Nock said.
Nock is also reminding everyone that the shelter is still accepting applications for adoptions and fosters. She says the easiest way to do that is to find the application on their website and mail it or email it to them.
