HARRINGTON, Del. – Harrington Police arrested a man on strangulation and other related charges following a domestic incident Friday night.

We’re told officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Delaware Avenue shortly after 9 p.m. for a reported domestic dispute. On arrival, police made contact with the female victim, but say the suspect, 40-year-old Jeremy Jensen, had already fled the area.

Investigation revealed that Jensen and the victim had gotten into a verbal argument that turned physical when Jensen reportedly began assaulting the victim and tried to choke her. The victim also reported that Jensen took her cell phone to keep her from calling 911, and damaged property inside the residence.

Warrants were obtained for Jensen’s arrest. The following day, police were contacted after Jensen returned to the residence, and he was subsequently taken into custody. He was charged with strangulation, second degree unlawful imprisonment, malicious interference with emergency communications, offensive touching, and criminal mischief under $1,000.

Jensen was held at SCI on $6,050 secured bond.
